On April 12, community members are invited to attend the annual Bohemian Supper Club to help raise money for Salem High School graduates.
Bill Spencer-Pierce, a retired choir teacher, started the Bohemian Supper Club orchestra concert. After he retired, he went to the Salem Education Foundation and set up an alumni concert that would benefit scholarships for the students. Spencer-Pierce plans the songs and gets musicians to come and play. There are also SHS graduates, retired and current teachers, and community members that are part of the show. Everyone in the show has either received a scholarship or their kids have.
The purpose of the show is to raise money for scholarships from the Salem Education Foundation and for the SHS choir scholarship. The money raised helps students to pay for college and tools or equipment if they’re going straight into the workplace.
The event has sponsorship opportunities, where businesses or other individuals can donate and their name will be listed in the program. Over 10 thousand dollars have been raised since the show was started.
The show will be on Saturday, April 12, at the Trueblood Performing Arts Center at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $10 each, and you can get them at the Mid-Southern Savings Bank, Salem Apothecary, Loy & Fordyce Insurance and Salem High School. They may also be purchased at Eventbrite.com by searching “bohemian.”
