While rehearsing for a British murder mystery show at The Murder Mystery Playhouse, the lights go out and an actor dies onstage. However, this murder wasn’t supposed to happen. The police are called and the actors reenact what happened to show them. Except while they are doing this, another person dies at the same scene as last time. They do the scene again and another person dies. Everyone is worried that they could possibly be next. All the actors must work together to find who the murderer is before he murders them all.
This is the synopsis of the play that will be presented by the Salem High School Drama Club. This play was chosen for the spring production because it’s what all of the students wanted to do.
The show will be Friday, May 2, Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4. On Friday and Saturday, it will begin at 7 p.m. On Sunday, the show will start at 2 p.m. The play will be held at the Trueblood Performing Arts Center at the middle school.
Tickets for students and seniors are $6. Pre-school children and under will be free. For everyone else, the tickets are $8.
Drama Club sponsor Tara Kritzer said that getting enough high school students involved was hard so she asked some middle school students to help, too. There are a total of 14 students in the play. She said transportation to and from practice, sports and other activities has also made it difficult for students to be able to participate.
