Where did you go to school? I went to Paoli High School. I went to Indiana State for my undergraduate, and I received my masters degree from Olivet.
How many years have you been teaching? I started in education in 1999.
Why did you go into education? I went into education because of my love for children. I felt that was the calling for my life.
What are you looking forward to in the new school year? It has been a minute since I have taught older students. I really enjoyed it and I am excited to do it again.
What has been the biggest change in education since you started? The biggest change in education for me is the behavior of students and their family dynamics. Kids deal with so many difficulties in their young lives in the world we live in today.
What would you like the community to know about you? Besides teaching, my husband Kyle and I pastor at Fishing Creek Christian along with our daughter, Hadley. Kyle is the 7th grade basketball coach at Salem as well. We have both been active in the surrounding schools for many years. I hope to be a light to my students and not only help them learn academically, but to learn their worth in this world as well.
