Earlier today, the Department learned that Pearson's Parent Portal was not operating properly, which was preventing parents from requesting an ISTEP+ rescore. Pearson is working to fix the issue, and the Department will ensure that parents have adequate time to request an ISTEP+ rescore. With that in mind, the Department sent the message below to Test Coordinators, and we wanted to share it with you as well. We will provide an update when we have more information.
"The Parent Portal is not available at this time due to technical difficulties. We are working with Pearson to ensure they resolve the issue as quickly as possible. The ISTEP+ Grades 3-8 rescore window will be extended beyond the original closing date of August 12, 2016, to ensure parents have an adequate opportunity to request a rescore.
"Pearson will reopen the Parent Portal as soon as possible. After the Portal has reopened, upon login a message will display to indicate the new date and time that the rescore window will close.
"We understand the inconvenience this is causing, and we appreciate your patience regarding this matter. The Office of Student Assessment will provide an update to CTCs on Monday morning regarding the status of the Parent Portal."
