Screenagers- Free viewing at SHS posted by Anne O'Connell

 Did you know that teens spend an average of 6.5 hours a day on social media, computer games and the internet?   Screenagers: Growing up in the Digital Age is a new movie exploring how this screen time is affecting young people and how some families are managing this technology in their lives. 

Parents, students and community members are invited see the film at Salem High School on May 2 at 6 pm.  Admission is free, but in order to plan for seating and refreshments, reservations are requested at this link.  Click the “Free” button to reserve your seats.

Salem '08 Seniors Do Well on SAT's

In September 2008, the College Board released data on the average SAT scores for the Class of 2008, including all Indiana school corporations.  The data lists the national and Indiana mean scores and along with the scores for individual school districts in Critical Reading, Mathematics and Writing.  SHS Director of Guidance Jennifer Martin analyzed the scores of surrounding Southern Indiana districts to demonstrate how Salem High School seniors performed in comparison.  Of the 21 school corporations, SHS seniors ranked 4th in writing, 7th in mathematics and tied for 9th in critical reading.  See the charts below for average scores by school corporation:
