Dr. D. Lynn Reed has been the Superintendent of Salem Community Schools since 2007. From 2000 to 2007 she served as Superintendent of Brown County Schools. From 1997-2000 she was Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for the MSD of Martinsville. Her career has spanned for 34 years of service as an administrator and teacher.
Dr. Reed earned her Ed.D. at East Tennessee State University, her M.S. degree at Indiana University and her B.S. degree at Indiana State University. She is active in various professional organizations and currently serves as President of the governing board for Indiana Small and Rural Schools, serves on the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents State Superintendent Advisory Committee and on the Indiana Rural Task Force. Locally, Dr. Reed is a member of Rotary, Board member of the Washington County Family YMCA and serves on the board of directors of the Washington County Economic Growth Partnership . Her husband, John, is the Assistant Superintendent at West Clark Community Schools. They have two daughters, Kristin and Jillian (SHS, 2008), and one granddaughter, Kyla.
