Dr. D. Lynn Reed

Dr. D. Lynn Reed has been the Superintendent of Salem Community Schools since 2007. From 2000 to 2007 she served as Superintendent of Brown County Schools. From 1997-2000 she was Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for the MSD of Martinsville. Her career has spanned for 39 years of service as an administrator and teacher.

Dr. Reed earned her Ed.D. at East Tennessee State University, her M.S. degree at Indiana University and her B.S. degree at Indiana State University. She is active in various professional organizations and serves as President of the governing board for the Indiana Small and Rural Schools Association, is a member of the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents State Superintendent Professional Development Committee and is the current President of the Southern Hills Superintendents’ Study Council. Her husband, John, is a retired Superintendent. They have two daughters, Kristin and Jillian (SHS, 2008), one granddaughter, Kyla and one grandson, John David.
